An exemplary itinerary full of encounters, knowledge and flavor. Each of our trips is unique - but this itinerary will give you a good idea of what to expect.

Monday - Arrival
- Flight from Bogotá to Pitalito
- Continue to San Augustín
- Check in at the hotel
- Dinner together and orientation
📌 Goal of the day: Arrival, initial orientation, getting to know the group and the region.

Tuesday - Experience Coffee Growing: Finca Los Cauchos
- Visit to the Finca Los Cauchos
- Introduction to cultivation methods, altitudes and microclimate
- Tour around the plantations (shade cultivation, biodiversity)
- Conversations with the producers about challenges & visions
- Dinner in a family atmosphere
📌 Goal of the day: Understanding how coffee grows - and who cultivates it.

Wednesday - Process & Taste Coffee
- Introduction to fermentation & drying
- Visit to a quality laboratory and cupping session directly on the finca
- Tasting of different types of preparation
- Exchange on flavor profiles and SCA criteria
- Time for reflection or a walk through San Agustín
📌 Goal of the day: Develop sensory understanding & deepen coffee expertise.

Thursday - Culture & Identity of Origin
- Visit to the St. Augustine Archaeological Park (UNESCO World Heritage)
- Introduction to pre-Columbian cultures and their significance
- Hike through sacred paths, sculptures, rivers and nature
- Talk about the cultural roots of coffee in the region
📌 Goal of the day: Grasp Colombia's history - beyond coffee.

Friday - Personal Stories & Processing
- Visit to Oscar, an independent producer
- Conversations about the role of the family in coffee cultivation
- Demonstration of processing on a smaller scale
- Reflection: What does fair trade mean in concrete terms?
- Cooking together or market visit (depending on request & availability)
📌 Goal of the day: Personal connection and a deeper understanding of coffee as a reality of life.

Saturday - Biodiversity & cCoffee in the Cloud Forest
- Visit to Finca Diomer at a higher altitude near Pitalito
- Specialty farming in cloud forest zones: Challenges & Opportunities
- Focus on rare varieties & alternative processing methods
- Exchange with younger producers
- Return to San Agustín, free evening
📌 Goal of the day: How nature & coffee cultivation intertwine in the Andes.

Sunday - Culture, Leisure & Cuisine
Day with optional activities:
- Visit to the local market
- Cooking course with hosts
- Nature walk
- Visit local coffee shops in San Augustín
- Visit to a cocoa plantation
- Panela production
- Dinner together with final round
📌 Goal of the day: Space for your own impressions, connection to the region & slowing down.

Monday - Return Journey
- Breakfast & transfer to Pitalito
- Domestic flight to Bogotá
- Farewell to the group
📌 Goal of the day: Conclusion, exchange, return - with a full heart and deep coffee knowledge.

The itinerary shown is an example. The actual itinerary may vary slightly depending on the season, weather conditions, harvest time and availability of individual fincas.
We plan each trip individually and coordinate the program in close cooperation with our partner fincas - with the aim of offering you an experience that is as authentic as it is high-quality.
